It feels good to be submitting something! I guess it has been almost a month since my last post, but I needed to get settled into my new life here after the move! So this is a great accomplishment! My first piece of work since I moved.

This idea has been flouting around my head for some time and I really got hit to finally draw it out a week ago! It occurred to me that I’ve never really show case Saint’s necromancer and black magic talents before! What a shame! So I rolled up my sleeves and set out to do a moody picture and hopefully add some decent effects!

I’m very pleased with the outcome too!

I tired out a couple of different things with this picture, namely the super shiny latex boots and gloves, which I still don’t have down perfectly, but for a first try, I think they turned out pretty good! I also decided to make her hair less… confined might be the word, and I think it looks freer without the line work around it. Her eyes are different too, and I think they work better with the ‘eye glare’ in a different placement. Forgive me for babbling!

Anyway, I didn’t forget to add her pupils, I just happened to think Saint’s eyes go blank when she’s casting magic or whatnot. Plus it’s creepier!

And as far as the single wing goes, Saint isn’t exactly happy that she has two different wing types and they brought her great grief as a child, so she would rather hide the pretty angelic wing, since it is a sign of her supernatural parentage, and pretend she’s a cripple who can’t fly, at least until she absolutely has to take to the sky. Tragic!
