For 100 Themes, “Seeking Solace”.

I’ve been gone a long time it feels.

This picture has been sitting around on my computer for a good month, if not longer. I finally got around to coloring it last week and finished it just today with the background.

Her wing is my favorite part, I’m so proud. It’s probably one of the very best wings I’ve drawn. I actually was smart about it and went online to check out the bone structure of bird wings and it was so very helpful, most of the time I just draw feathers and feathers and hope it all turns out alright.

So what seeking solace means for me is finding comfort even in the most violent situations. Not necessarily with church (me and organized religion don’t get along very well) but maybe finding it in yourself. Or its aftermath, I can’t be too sure, but this whole picture sums it up for me. Maybe in the end it’s just finding hope and finding peace in that!
